Jaihind Foundation, an NGO working for the welfare of the families of soldiers and martyrs was established in 2017 under the chairmanship of Mr. Sandeep Mane. This organization is working selflessly for the soldiers to regain their honor in the society, and to awaken patriotism in the new generation.
The organization successfully implements many activities like honoring the family of martyrs, celebrating festivals like Rakshabandhan and Diwali with the soldiers, paying attention to the parents of soldiers, celebrating the birthdays of martyr's children and helping them in their hardships.
Widows are not accepted in society to take Saubhagivati ornament. After the martyrdom of a married soldier, a widowed heroine cannot posses the ornament of fortune though her husband has sacrificed his life for the country. Foundation had planned to go against such traditions and decided to provide an honour to restore the dignity of such heroines in the society. It has not only honored many widows by giving them their lucky ornament, but it has also done a great job of liberating many village widows. Mrs. Hemlata Phadtare, Mrs. Manisha Arbune and Mrs. Urmila Kadam, Women Head of Jaihind Foundation are actively engaged in this.
The foundation has not only honored the families of many martyrs but has made a sincere effort to present their issues to the society by conducting online interviews with Veerpatni or Veermata through social media. Interestingly, some Veerpatni as well have joined in this work.
Teams of the organization are working at Satara, Javali, Wai, Khatav, Karad, Baramati, Gondia, Chandrapur, Kolhapur, Wardha, Pune and Mumbai. Jaihind has also expanded outside Maharashtra to the states of Goa, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu, Karnataka. Mr. Anil Anpat is the vice president and Mr. Hanumant Mandhare is the secretary of this organization.
